About Larry Burks

Larry Burks is a Lubbock, Texas author, speaker, and retired United States Air Force Security Forces veteran. He served for 20 years, with assignments in the United States, Korea, Italy, and Kuwait, before spending 21 years at Texas Tech University as an Operations Superintendent.

His life, service, and family experiences shape both his adult fiction and the My Family Series—children’s help books designed to give adults a gentle, honest way to begin difficult conversations with children.

Larry has been married to Peggy since 1980. Together they have five children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He now writes, speaks, and develops resources for families and caregivers.
